ME3: From Chapter 28
Scene: Horizon Sanctuary med lab
..........The cannibal howled in frustration as it tried to stand up. He knew that he got to Sh'sk before…he could do it again…if only for a few more seconds. He had to try…he had to find out where Andromeda went. Jumping over him, Garrus pinned him down. "Where is she?!" The cannibal snarled and wiggled trying to get free.

Catching up to him, Ashley became stunned at what she was seeing. "Garrus…what the hell-"

"Where is Andromeda?!" Garrus' voice rose. He shook the cannibal roughly as the monster squealed. "Sh'sk, listen!"

Calming, the creature whimpered gently as it looked up at him. Pain struck his face hard. Garrus' grip on him loosened up. "Sh'sk…is she a husk too?" He could barely get the words out of his mouth himself. After several seconds, the cannibal shook its head slowly. Sh'sk leaned his head up further, his wide gaped mouth trying to speak but no audible words could be heard. Garrus could tell that Sh'sk was really trying. His heart started to race as he watched........

ART TALK:

:bulletblue: Though this scene takes place in the labs, the background depicts a limbo or purgatorial-like 'plane of existent', like a 'station' to the afterlife sort of to speak; similar concept in Assassin's Creed where Altair/Ezio/Connor farewell his assassinated 'key' enemies in this 'realm' of non-enxistence.

:bulletblue:: The darkened eye line I did to Garrus is a technique adapted from manga and anime, where it depicts obscurity. Here we can tell Garrus is tormented and torn between what he felt inside and how to react.

:bulletblue: The fact that Garrus called the Cannibal by name makes me believe Garrus still sense the individuality in 'it' - hence the illusion of seeing the Batarian( Sh'sk) facial feature when obviously the Cannibal is beyond salvation.

:bulletblue: The blue light flare cut across the Garrus and the Canibal Sh'sk symbolized disconnection in to contrast to their once good friendship when Sh'sk was still a Batarian.
