Cotton Candy - BiOSHOCK INFINiTE by Eddy-Shinjuku Cotton Candy - BiOSHOCK INFINiTE by Eddy-Shinjuku
"So I heard they called you the False Shepard....<nom nom nom>..."

Photoshop CS6: Painting, Airbrushing, and Matte Painting (background).
Working hours: 12 hrs

:bulletblue: Honestly I really like her before she went all Comstock with the blue dress, the air of innocent and enthusiasm is refreshing - certainly when your IA companion disappeared from sight then come back with a cotton candy looking all happy like a kitten.
:bulletblue: So much awesomeness the anticipation to meet her; the build up towards finding her worth the 2 years of waiting, had a little goosebump moment.
:bulletblue:The effort to create her by the good people @ Irrational Games is sublime, Elizabeth should easily contend for the Best Female Gaming character of the year, although Lara Croft and Ellie (The Last of Us) will say otherwise ;D

Thanks! Actually this is a random thing that she really does in the game when you let her run around freely and interact with the surrounding :D

She does wander around a lot in the first 1/3 portion of the game; who would have thought that an NPC companion is more than just a standing figure lol

I am absolutely speechless. Elizabeth is one of my most favored video game characters of all time. And it pains me when people portray her as a sexual icon for the game. You sir on the other hand, have captured the character and emotion that Elizabeth brings to the world of video games, and for that I thank you.

Awesome mate! :D

Yup, I think I'm pretty decent at these cute stuff; I'd learn that from Aya ;p
The dutch angle makes it feels like she is walking away from the candy man behind her, good technique that compliments the composition

very nice, I would like to ask you, for the skin texture, do you use a speckled brush, or a textured photo in combination with a dodge/overlay? :)

I used something close to this brush set for the glistened pores: castrochew.deviantart.com/art/...
The rest is a brush set explained in the description above under 'CREDITS'.
I created a specific layer for this so that I can control how much opacity is required in relation to the light that bounces of the skin
She's getting intense light source here, hence the saturated pores. Though this is exaggerated to make it pops out, it is a semi-realism illustration so it warrants that.

I'm happy to answer any academical related stuff, so do shoot more if you have, cheers! :w00t:

thank's a lot for answering my question:) btw you are very skilled in things like composition and stuff, Did you use the fibonachi spiral in that other bioshock infinte painting(the one with the splashing salt bottle)

Yes, this piece utilized a 'cinematographic' composition with the tiled angle (a.k.a. Dutch Angle, go Goggle this out) to compliment the spiral, imagine it starts off from the right top corner, makes a dive bomb to the cotton candy, ricochet upwards towards the top left corner and spiral in the face region then diminish near her smile - the focal point.
Another basic rule is applied too, for instance if you drew a 3x3 grid here, her face is positioned right in the top left intersection of the grid. This is called 'rules of thirds', used somewhat 'religiously' in photography lol, here is some quick explanation I found in dA: lydiarhianne.deviantart.com/ar... stealingmypainaway.deviantart.... untrendy.deviantart.com/art/ti...
Awesome stuff they are! I used to think we can just plant stuff randomly in an image, it's good, but for the immense amount of time you invested on a work surely you want the best out of it, so here is where composition comes to push that extra mileage :w00t:

The Fibonacci spiral is epic, but I only use it when you can really sense the flow in the artwork, if it's a passive piece like a portrait, I switch to other composition methods.

YUP! I use the awesome Dutch lasso angle in every given chance, to the point many perceived that my gallery is rather wonky lol
Straight and upright angles doesn't create the tension needed ^^;

yes, straight is boring or relaxed/stiff, at a lil more tilted angle is dynamic or beginning to be dynamic(if you know what I mean, I find it hard to explain) and noticeably tilted is for tension and high action!

Very nice job!

I must ask: was Courtnee Draper (the voice actress for Elizabeth in the English version) the muse or the model for your drawing? The face of your Elizabeth looks a bit similar to Courtnee. Google her if you to get a better idea of what she looks like.

Keep up the good work.

You are close, though the look I was going for was that of Zooey Deschanel's, especially the eyes :D
She's good at making this 'surprised' eye expression in a natural way, hence fitting for this very concept :w00t:
