Don Mario, featuring the brother (Luigi) , the princess (Peach) and the informer (Toad).
- Despite all the stuff in the art, it's all about the moustachery! - Hope this work is taken seriously and not a WTF or a spoof
- The art here holds strong symbolism that are conveyed by the flower and flames. The flower means purity and compassion; and the flames means passion and the power to dispel evil. It's like a creed for this gang.
- That TOAD kid is influenced by Gavroche and Oliver Twist - he seems like a very informed rascal in the Mario games, he's like the 'little bird' who knows almost everything happening around. So in this art, I portray him as a street wise kid.
- Peach is just being Peach; aside from looking pretty, carefree and a true princess of her domain, she plays a prominent and supportive role to this misfit group. It's safe to say she manages the organization.
- Luigi the Dear brother; only he will follow Mario to the depth of hell fighting for a cause and none

Mario has a very dominant presence in this picture. Sure, when we mention the Super Mario Bros, Mushroom Kingdom, or anything related to it, Mario is always the main character, but here, you can see the magnitude of importance Mario encompasses the picture. While he does encompass the picture, he doesn't overpower it, allowing his supporting cast to shine as well in the picture too.
Luigi has that look on his face that says, "Give it all you got cause we don't back down for anybody." He's been supporting Mario since the beginning so no matter the task, Luigi is always there to lend a helping hand. The smashing of his fists together shows that he's raring to go, and the slight head tilt just adds to the entirety of what makes Luigi a person you can rely on to have your back.
Toad has that little cheeky smile about him, giving off that vibe that tells everyone that he can get away with everything... which wouldn't be too far from the truth, seeing as how he happens to always have the right kind of information that everyone needs (hahaha and apparently the author mentioned this too). But the thing is, he knows it, and he'll do it again and again for the specific purpose of giving the Mario Bros. the edge they need when faced with peril cause he's way too overconfident for his own good.
Peach ... well for Peach, I usually would have expected Bowser to have kidnapped her by now resulting in this picture to not exist in the first place. xD Jokes aside though, I liked the overall look that she sported. The face was done beautifully and the tattoos were a nice touch here and there, but one thing that sort of caught me off guard were her clothes. For a man, obviously I'm going to like the clothes for what they are, but when it comes to fitting with this picture, I felt that she was revealing a tad too much, especially when the lingerie showed up on her legs. To me, a princess of a kingdom should be much more properly dressed than this. So while I do like the tattoos and the way you portrayed her body's shape, it doesn't match the group as much as I would have hoped it would have.
I love the hair style everyone has. The rugged mustache that Mario has shows the amount of experience he has when dealing with situations. It's not WILDLY out there, but it shows in the picture that he has too many things to deal with than to worry about his facial appearances. Luigi, on the other hand, is properly trimmed to the teeth. He likes to look good before going into a fight. Such a stylist. Hahaha. Peach has the proper three hair spikes on each side, making it obvious that she's the Princess Peach that we all know. Well, I never imagined Toad with hair, but I guess this hair style is now going to be on my mind when I imagine a "Human Toad".
I love the symbolism in the flower and the fist. On the left hand, it shows the gentleness of the fire flower as its leaves blow in the wind, but the great power that it holds is revealed on Mario's right hand, showing the raw power that he is capable of unleashing for the greater good.
Overall, it's a picture that I can definitely come to love as I always tend to be a big fan of pictures where they take some of my favorite video game characters and render them into iconic beings that we all can remember and have fun looking at them. Fantastic work on the picture, and I hope to see more.
Stylistically this piece is fantastic, you demonstrate a great knowledge of anatomy, lighting/shadow, all superb.
Your use of a wide variety of brushes is visibly evident in this piece, which is great!
My issue with this piece is the fact that it embodies gender roles, which is quite problematic. I understand this is a parody, however it's important to notice you depict both Mario and Luigi as menacing, powerful men, and even Toad as a menacing young boy. But Peach - the only female in the piece - you depicted with her ass out and tits forward in lingerie, quite obviously catering to the heterosexual male audience. This is considerably degrading towards women.
It demonstrates quite clearly how the artist views men and women differently, to be frank.
That's pretty much the only issue I see with this piece. I hope this was helpful.
You know, I'm giving this art a story (even though you basically have one in your descrip.) Mario and Luigi decided to start a new life and forms a small mafia, but still fights evil. Peach tags along and instead of being the 'Damsel in Distress' she decides to work on her fighting skills. Her outfit looks enticing, but really it's made to lure foes in and the boys would attack the foes from surprise. Toad runs into them and was being followed by some enemies because he ratted on them. The bros of course defeated them and Toad tells them that he knows everything about the city and bad guys, so they let him in the gang for the information he provides them on. Together, they form the 'Cosa Nostra'.
Lol, I thought you knew about this madness of a piece! XD Perhaps it stands apart from my usual style and wouldn't crossed anyone's mind that I do produce something like this.
